One of the case studies in The Power of Mobility is Montclair State University. When I give talks, I often use Montclair as an example of how mobility is changing the rules of competition across different industries. As a parent, if my child were considering several schools - all other things being equal, I’d lobby for Montclair’s safety programs. As a student, once I became habituated to cool features like the shuttle bus tracker, I think I’d be loyal to Montclair and not consider transferring.

Over the past month or so, the school has gotten a mix of good and bad press about it’s cellphone program. This video is one of the good ones:
