The most convenient way that mobility is getting built into products is through the convergence into the cellphone of capabilities that previously existed as standalone products. That way, those products are now with you and available for your use whenever you need them wherever you go.

    Doesn’t it stand to reason then that as this convergence continues we should expect the AT&Ts and Verizons to STOP subsidizing these uber phones (ala iPhone)? It’s got to be a drain on the network’s cost of sales. And, the device mfg isn’t getting full margin on the sale (in lieu of wholesaling it).

    Pretty soon the devices are too expensive for the networks to ‘buy’ for us.
